Proverbs 17: King James Bible
A Wicked Doer – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter seventeen, Verses 4-5
4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue. 5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.
Daily Inspiration from These Verses – A Wicked Doer
The irony in the verses above is priceless in my opinion. There are no wise or saved people mentioned in either verse, and is only examining the wicked.
The wicked will believe lies, and a liar will listen to the wicked, he that is glad at calamities will find himself one day in a calamity. That’s how I think of these.
We have covered in an earlier devotional, that the fears of the wicked will come upon them. Above, we can clearly see why that is, and how that can transpire.
If you are wicked, and the company you keep are just as wicked, never be shocked to learn that you’ve been lied to, or about. But concerning those who belong to the Father, we are instructed to depart from the wicked, at least concerning social relationships.
This is important for several reasons. What relationship does fresh water have with salty, or light with darkness? Any time I’ve either been that guy, or have known people who have been that guy, who thinks that they can stay on the straight and narrow, and convert friends that are wicked to adhere to how you or the Father says and does things, it’s been a miserable failure.
In the end, you wind up slowly doing things the same way they do, saying similar things, doing similar things, and eventually (unless there is some kind of intervention) you wind up believing things the same way they do. Or at least alter your walk with the Father.
I’ve been there and done that, and have known several people who have as well. “Touch not the unclean thing” loses it’s potency when the unclean starts to appear clean, as doctrinal or spiritual erosion starts to take effect. And this is despite the best of original intentions.
Wickedness is it’s own reward, and not only does it catch up to the wicked while they’re still kicking, but will also have much to answer for afterward. There is one thing that’s sure. Atheism, or any form of Godlessness is non existent after death.
There is a God Almighty, and there is his only begotten Son Christ Jesus the Lord. Without Jesus, we’re all doomed to fail and fall short of an eternity with the Father. All are counted as wicked without the Father beholding his Son, when he beholds us.
So, should anyone have any question about whether or not they have been saved, and washed free of sin by the Blood of the Lamb, please head to the Salvation page, and give your lives to Jesus. I’ve never met anyone who’s regretted it.

12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
2 Thessalonians 3: King James Bible
3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: 2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Peter 3: King James Bible
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
James 3: King James Bible
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Many of us know all kinds of people. We know both sinners and saints, saved and unsaved. Please Father, help us to be steadfast in your ways, and to remain the type of examples that you need for us to be. Cause for us to be as light to a darkened world, bring forth the brightness of Jesus everywhere we go. For the sake of your Kingdom and the sake of the souls that must be saved. This we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
