Ambassadors – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter thirteen, Verses 17-18

Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Ambassadors
These are verses that should be taken very seriously by all of us who belong to the Father. The reason why it should hit home, is because we who are saved, and washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, are Ambassadors of Christ.
We are alien to this world, having been made separate of it, and are traversing through it as citizens of Heaven. Jesus revealed this fact, when he was praying for the apostles, and all believers that will come after them, meaning us, in John chapter 17. Check it out bearing that in mind, and you’ll see what I’m saying.
That being the case, it is vital for us to realize, that our ambassadorship is something that the Lord takes into account, one way or the other. The question is, are we doing our job? Some may, some may not. Some may not even have a clue about being an ambassador of Christ.
I did a fairly thorough study into this topic, when covering 2 Corinthians 6, you can find in the Bible Study section. Please check it out when you’ve got a few minutes. We are currently citizens of Heaven, that are to be walking as lights in a dark, fallen world.
This isn’t to say that you are called to set up a soapbox in the town square, and start preaching to people (unless that’s what the Lord has told you to do), but to be available and ready, to be of good use when the time comes. Everyone’s got a different call, but everyone that’s saved is an ambassador, which is the equivalent to acting in behalf of the King.
Jesus tells us to be the salt of the earth, and he also says that we are the light of the world. It’s on us all, to be able to allow others to see that light. Funny thing about a light… It doesn’t chase people down. People see light when they’re standing in darkness.

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5: King James Bible
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Ephesians 6: King James Bible
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
You’ve called each of us to be different things, and if any one of us are not sure or are fuzzy, concerning your will for our lives, please make it clear Lord, so that we serve you better, and fulfill your will. And help us Father, to be good and wise ambassadors, contending with the world in your service, and as your representation. Guide us all in the way we should go. This we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
