While thinking about the things of the Lord today, an interesting parallel came to mind that I thought I’d jot down before it gets buried in the back of my mind. And it’s real quick and simple, but I thought it was kinda cool.
We are baptized with water if we choose to do so, being submerged with water, symbolizing a type of renewal, or cleansing, re-emerging as having left the old man (ways) at the bottom of the water.
The earth was cleansed with a flood, wiping away all that was tainted and wicked, and re-emerged with a fresh start.
When we’re baptized in the Holy Ghost, it’s with fire (Luke 3:16, Acts 2:3, Hebrews 1:7)
And the earth also is to be engulfed with fire (2 Peter 3:11-13) making way for a new heaven and new earth.
The parallel that I’m seeing here is cycle of different baptisms that we partake in spiritually, has and will come upon the earth physically. The baptism of water which has already happened by way of the great flood, and the baptism of fire that is to come in the future after the millennial reign of Christ. Is anyone else picking up what I’m putting down or am I all wet?
Anyway, thanks for checking it out. Please leave your opinion down below in the comments section and tell me what you think about this strange thing to think about. God bless you all and to those of you who have donated, prayed, shared and otherwise shown your support for this ministry, I give you my sincere thanks and am always humbled at the kindness of the brothers and sisters in Christ that come and read the different messages on this site and participate in any way.
The Lord is always good, and it’s on us as believers to let the world know about the good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus. That’s one of the many goals of this site, and I appreciate your help pushing this medium forward for those very purposes! God bless you all in Jesus name! All that said, I think this post which I’ve decided to call An interesting Parallel may just be the shortest post I’ve done in ages!
