Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Sin Behind the Curtain
Ever notice that the temptation to sin rarely reveals the consequences if carried out? No matter what it is, there’s always several reasons that will crop up that make sin to be a good idea. At least “seem” to be a good idea.
The reason that we’re in the dilemma that we’re in today, is because Eve fell for the good idea that was proposed to her, with Adam following suit. Just look where that got them.
The true consequences of sin, or what you’re not made aware of by whatever the temptation is, would be what’s waiting under the shiny wrapper. Much like the text above, covered with the finer things, the appealing things.
Covered, so as not to expose the truth behind whatever is being used to drag someone into sin. Decorated, so as not to alert anyone to the “man behind the curtain,” or in other words, shifting attention away from anything that might cause for us to recognize sin as sin.
Perfumed, so we don’t smell anything that’s fishy, anything that may be suspicious. In virtually every way, this world does its utmost to disguise sin. The strange woman (the world) is constantly watching and waiting to entice an unwitting victim.
Among the many victories and triumphs that the strange woman may acquire over the course of time, her greatest trophy, is one who should have known better, but chose to ignore the wisdom, understanding, and council of the Father.

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
There are so many different packages that the enemy tries to wrap up his wicked will for each of us. Please Father, through your wisdom, teaching, your Word, and through your Holy Ghost, cause for us to penetrate through all of the disguises well before there is an occasion to sin, and get ourselves in a bind. Thanks you for your care and your attention to us Lord. And these things we pray and ask of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
