Daily Inspiration from These Verses – By Me Kings Reign

Do you think that the Lord gets shocked by any leader that pops up? We sure do. There’s a lot that is going to be said about kings and rulers in later verses and chapters, but the Lord is the King of Kings, and is a just king.

He distributes leaders all over the place. One thing that isn’t covered in the Word, is the Lord’s hand in elected officials. For some people, this means that we’re not supposed to take part in political affairs. I couldn’t disagree with that notion more.

Personally, I believe that the Lord actually moves through his people when it comes to a democracy. In one way or the other, a nation will receive the officials that they deserve. And those who decide that it’s not a matter of state for an Ambassador of Christ, tend to forget that we’re supposed to occupy till he returns.

When we take a blind eye to the goings on either state by state, or country wide, and pay no attention to those who are running for anything (from dog catcher to President), we allow the enemy to use his influence over those whom he would.

This is the thinking, that allows people who’s ideology is against the Lord, and is against all of the ways of the Lord, to come into power. Only after things begin happening that the Body of Christ doesn’t like, is when we tend to pay more attention.

As I said above, we’re to occupy till the return of the Lord. But through different levels of apathy, will a people wind up voting in someone who will make that over-burdensome, through means of a variety of persecutions. Ask Christians in China, North Korea, and several places in the Middle East, for starters.

All of these things matter as it relates to a democracy. However, these things mean little to nothing when we’re talking about a dictatorial or monarchical type of government. Much prayer and living by faith is important as we traverse through this place, no matter the government type.

But if we’re in a position to choose to play a hand in whether or not we’re going to be able to openly worship, hold church in our homes, or preach the gospel unhindered, we’d better be paying attention and participating. By the way, arrests have been made, right here in the United States, concerning all of the above during the past several years of the previous administration.

Just as the Lord sent a man to anoint Saul king, so he sends us to vote in the leaders of our day. At least, this is true for us who are lucky enough to be in a country with those set of circumstances. By the Lord Kings reign, but through his servants he takes action.

Your eye sees all, your all places all the time, and we thank you for your oversight into all of the intricate things that go on across the face of the earth. We thank you Lord, for putting into place those who favor your ways, and rule accordingly, and even thank you for those who wind up in power that don’t. But should we be found under a ruler to any degree, that revels in deceit and wickedness, please open our eyes to why that person is there, and lead us all into repentance. May we have cause to rejoice in the reign of righteous leadership, as we await our King, and your Kingdom to come. In the name of that King, the Lord Jesus Christ we pray.

Do we stop to remember that the Lord said,”by me kings reign” as we find ourselves cursing out our leaders?
