Proverbs 22: King James Bible
Creation vs Children – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter twenty two, Verse 2
2 The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.
Daily Inspiration from This Verse – Creation vs Children
Often throughout the Word of God, we see the rich and the poor almost pitted against each other. The rich having all of the resources and advantages that come with the outcome of their lives, while the poor are dealing with the struggle of lack and whatever disadvantages that have been dealt to them for whatever the reason.
The verse above is a reminder to us all, that it just doesn’t matter. It’s easy to assume what a rich person thinks of the poor. It’s just as easy to assume what the poor’s thoughts are of the rich. We’ve got a staunch stereotype burned into our brains of how one looks upon the other.
What isn’t etched into our brains, is the truth that is declared in the verse above. The Lord is the maker of the poor and the rich alike. There is no respecter of persons when it comes to the Father.
He weighs the heart, and in that sense, there is wickedness to be found in both categories, as well as good things found in both. He doesn’t fall prey to preconceived stereotypes, regardless to how true to life those stereotypes may be at times.
The rich have struggles that the poor will never have to contend with. Likewise, the poor have a different set of struggle, that the rich will never understand. Either way, the Lord is the creator of them both, and knows each individual motive and process in all of our lives.
When the rich and the poor come together before the Father, there is neither rich or poor. All are creations of the Living God, and all will be recognized as such one day.
But, this doesn’t mean that all people, regardless of their social standing, will be deemed as the children of God. Being a creation of God, is far different than being his child.
Christ Jesus made that perfectly clear when he decided to tell a particularly mischievous crowd one day exactly who their father was, and who he wasn’t. Though we are all the creations of the Lord, we are not all considered his children.
This is a fanciful way to marginalize the understanding, of what it takes to be a child of the Lord. In the Bible, there are two different factions that are considered sons of God. The angels themselves, who were directly created one by one by no other than the Father, and those who are Born Again. Of course there is Jesus, but he isn’t a son of God, he is THE Only Begotten Son of God. That’s much different.
By virtue of the Father birthing a new spirit within us through receiving his Son, we in fact become sons of God. Otherwise, we are all simply sons of Adam, who also could be considered a son of God, as he was directly created by him.
And being sons of Adam, that is not far removed from being children of the devil, since Adam handed over the keys in the Garden. The children of the world are subject to its ruler, and for now, that ruler is Satan.
That is why we need to break free from this world, and be born anew, a new creature in Christ Jesus. If you haven’t done so, and would like to have a new born spirit inside of you, connecting you personally with the Father in heavenly places, Click Here!

John 8: King James Bible
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
John 3: King James Bible
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 2: King James Bible
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 1: King James Bible
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
Thank you for your Word, and for not being a respecter of persons. Help us Lord, to do well whether we be rich or poor, to be good children of the Most High, and not entertaining all of the wickedness that comes by way of either being poor or rich. Help us to always keep our focus on you, and our eyes ever upon running the race that we’re all racing, in your service and for your glory. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray.
