Daily Inspiration from These Verses
We often tend to think on what we can either do or not do, in order for us to stay on track Biblically. Jesus took care of our Salvation, but we still should be doing our utmost for his highest, if for any other reason than just simply because we love him.
But in the scripture above, it’s revealed to us who exactly keeps the trail blazed for us to walk on. It’s the Father himself. He keeps the paths and preserves the way.
He’s certainly not doing it for his own benefit, that’s for sure. But instead, the Lord’s doing it on our behalf. There are certain things that we can do, others that we can’t.
If we could keep the path and preserve our way (set apart for those of us who are walking out our salvation throughout our lives), I don’t think that this part of Proverbs 2 would exist. Just as we aren’t able to save ourselves, neither are we able to plow the road (so to speak) that we’re walking down.
And isn’t this an encouraging piece of scripture? The Lord Jesus isn’t a Shepherd that leads his flock to head over a cliff. He’s THE Good Shepherd.
That said, there’s nobody more qualified than the Creator of all that there is, was, and ever will be, to have authored our future, and keep the path clear, should we make the decision to walk on it.
We don’t land on the right paths established by the Lord by chance. After salvation, we get there by the following:
- receive the Word of God
- hide his commandments with you
- incline your ear unto wisdom
- apply your heart to understanding
- cry after knowledge
- lift up your voice for understanding
- seek wisdom and understanding as silver
- search for them as if they’re hidden treasures
This is only doable for the believer in Christ Jesus. He’s the one standing at the beginning of this wonderful road. Through these actions, “righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path,”become available to us.

Matthew 7: King James Bible
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Narrow is the Way – Prayer
Please guide our feet, and stir us up to follow the instructions you’ve given us to stay inside your will, and to stay within the bounds of the road you’ve plowed for us, leading us into what you’ve planned for our lives. Keep us Lord, on the right track to meet that expected end. Guide us through every choice, decision, and circumstance, by your Holy Ghost. In Jesus mighty name we pray.
Have you ever noticed the curveballs that this world tends to throw, attempt to take your feet from the path that the Lord has prepared for you?
