Different Gospels

Different Gospels

March 16, 2016 by Brian Reynolds

People in ErrHas anyone else been barraged lately by different gospels? I have, more in the past couple of weeks than I ever have in my life. There seems to be a ratcheting up of false doctrine that is coming from all directions. I’m not talking about small inter faith debates, or squabble over the rapture, or anything of that nature that is common place in the church at large.

I’m talking about some very strange and oftentimes wacky “revelations” that people are getting. But not revelations into the Word of God, but those that stray far from it, by those that may not have a clue about what they are saying, and what they are doing. Let me give some examples, and I’m not going to name any names, because I don’t need to do that, as it’s my hope that those who are peddling these things will one day wake up concerning what God has established in his Word. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but a spiritual war.

Each of these either claim that the Bible is obsolete, or is wrong on all kinds of counts. First of all, there are several prophecies that haven’t happened yet, and it spans from the beginning of creation to the end of time itself. I don’t see room anywhere for it being obsolete. If there are things that haven’t happened yet, then it’s still active. And another thing that these people either forget or ignore is the following.

2 Samuel 22:

31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

Psalm 12:

6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Isaiah 55:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Jeremiah 1:

12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Revelation 3:

8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

1 Peter 1:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. (Just a side note, what part of forever leaves room for becoming obsolete? I don’t believe that forever has happened yet.)

Jesus is in ChinaJesus in China

This is one that seems to be gaining traction. Yes just as the title states, Jesus isn’t only back in action walking around upon the earth, but is in China at the moment instead of where the Bible says he will come down, which is in Israel. I have spoken my peace to these people, since they insist on informing me of their own version of the Bible (which is not the Bible by the way), but it never seems to matter what I say or how I respond. The truth of the matter is this:

Zechariah 14

1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. 10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s wine-presses. 11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

From cover to cover, there’s no mention of Jesus showing up to dwell anywhere (including China) before his second coming. When he does come back it will be in a fashion that will change the landscape, and will not be a quiet entry. He has established a way that he will return that cannot be copied, duplicated, or replicated by man, or by angel.

Jesus is Black, Living on the Earth, Throne on the MoonGods throne on the moon

This is the latest that someone was really trying to convince me, was going on. And while trying to convince me of this, this person disclosed that he doesn’t read the Bible and this information comes directly from the Holy Spirit. That Jesus is Black (which was important to this person for some reason), living here somewhere on the earth, and that the throne of God is on the moon.

Just to get it out of the way, God is Spirit, the Kingdom of Heaven is where his throne-room is, which is a spiritual place. We can’t see God or anything that is spirit with the naked eye (save for demonic activity or the Lord opening our eyes to something) and that goes for heaven as well. The moon doesn’t look like a good candidate for heaven if you get into the Word and see it’s description.

Secondly, my opinion of what skin color Jesus is is simply this… Not black, not white, but a mid-eastern Jew. You can argue who the “real” Israelites were and are with me all day, the Lord gathered Jews back into Israel as prophesied. From what some thought was an impossibility into a reality almost overnight. Everyone seems to want to turn Jesus into whatever skin color that they themselves are comfortable with. To me that’s just weird. He was a Jew that grew up in Israel. Either way though, what difference does it make at all whatsoever? This is also something that we are instructed to avoid because of the useless nature and the division that it causes.

1 Timothy 1:

4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Titus 3:

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

We shouldn’t be getting hung up on things like skin color of the Messiah. In my opinion that’s like creating a division similar to bickering about the style of sandal he wore. How about paying attention to what he did, what he said, what he’s doing, and what he’s going to do, all that he has established, and everything in between? When you boil it all down, the Bible is broken up into two peoples. Jews, and Gentiles.

Different colored BiblesNo matter how you slice it, Jesus created the barrier between the two, for us gentiles to be grafted into family of God. As a gentile, what he did and why he did it is first and foremost on my mind, not what hairstyle he has, or his skin color. I’ve had white covered Bibles, I’ve had black covered Bibles… What mattered to me was the message and life found in between the covers of it, not the outside of the covers.

As far as Jesus already being on the earth (in the flesh), anyone who has fallen for this no matter where it is; China, Siberia, Florida, Australia, etc., has been grossly deceived and has neglected the teaching of Jesus himself! He made it perfectly clear what would happen around the time of the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 24:

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Please understand that Jesus made it perfectly clear how he will be coming back, and he didn’t change his mind over the past couple thousand years. He meant what he said, and he’ll come back in a way that cannot be duplicated by either man not angel. Neither will it be repeatable through the powers of darkness not it’s technology. So as far as all of these different gospels go, be not deceived, because the only scriptures that these “new” gospels fulfill, are the warnings of false Christs and false prophets.

As I’ve said many times, the Lord has preserved his Word for many reasons, and one of which would be so that we are not tossed to and fro by every wind of different doctrine that comes our way. The Apostle Paul wrote about these things coming. I wonder as he wrote, did he have a clue about how prophetic his writings would become?

2 Timothy 4:

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The Bible also gives warning to those who would come at people with a different gospel. This is another point that the Holy Ghost lead Paul to bring up.

Galatians 1:

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Can it be any more clear than that? Before taking the ball and running with it, make sure you know who gave you the ball. There are two kinds of people that are partaking in this kind of deception. Those who are deceived by the evil one, and those who are deliberately making a foolish stand against God, and tries to muddy up the waters of people’s faith; doing whatever possible (no matter how subtle) to lead people away from the truth, and convince them of a lie.

Conclusion

The Father still speaks to people, and I would not ever tell someone that they are in err if they said that the Lord told them something. But there is a measuring stick that we have to go by, which is the Word of God. If we get a prophetic utterance, or a Word of the Lord, and it does not strictly line up with God’s Word, then it should be questioned as to who the message really came from.

Satan thinks he's God

Satan loves to convince people that he is God, and will go by that name when talking to someone. His ultimate goal is to be like the Most High, and will do whatever it takes to convince people that he is God. But he’s not God, and we’ve been given the tools via the very Word of God to be able to discern by who we are communicating with. Much on that topic is discussed in Kingdom of Darkness in a Fallen World.

1 Timothy 4:

4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

1 John 4:

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Different GospelsThank you for reading this post, and to be honest, I’ve already got a part 2 in the making for this topic. Like I said in the beginning of this post, lately, there’s been a barrage of spiritual storms that have broken upon land as of late. Those storms being different winds of doctrine, that I know need to be resisted. So here’s my meek attempt of resistance, and pray for those who find themselves involved with such things, as they have no idea what they’re doing, be it deliberate or by being deceived.

Thank you for checking out this post about different gospels!

The LORD comes to us daily seeking us to walk in His Spirit of Divine Truth, God reveals to us His Son, and Jesus reveals to us His Father, The Holy Spirit talks about them both. Each one is strong in their Word to us to try the spirit and see if it is of God. Only God can reveal Himself to us through His Divine Word which quickens us in His Spirit. Anything which is not of God causes fear, confusion, misunderstanding and is evil conceived for satan tries hard to deceive all. We must look to the True and Living God daily seeking His Truth asking His revelation for we are to be constant in season and out of season In His Word alone to guide us. Thank you so much for this.

      Hi Beverly,
Amen and your welcome. Thank you as well for your comment! And you’re right on target with what you posted. We are given many tools bt the Father, to aid against deceptions. Not the least of which would be the Word of God. But we’re in a time that, the willingly ignorant are leading the innocently ignorant, with wolves at the top feasting upon both. God’s people die for lack of knowledge…

      Hosea 4:
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

And yet the Father leaves an open line of redemption:
      Matthew 9:
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Great blog …I personally have been wrapped on the fingers for sometimes not really seeking God and just saying things randomly…sincere but sincerely wrong …I have learned that we need to be extremely cautious when dealing with God and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit…we need to remember we not dealing with a mate but rather with God…a Holy God

      Hi Conrad,
I agree with you, Although Christ is meek as to come and dwell with his people, that doesn’t mean that h:e is our “buddy”. There is a certain respect that the Lord deserves over all else. However, he is that friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) and has also called us his friends and also at the same time gives us insight on our friendship with him:
      John 15:
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

But there is a big difference between a friend and a buddy. At least not in the way I think of a buddy or “buddying” around with someone. In my opinion, there’s a lack of reverence, maybe a lack of fear/respect, that he absolutely deserves.

Concerning missing God in a sincere manner, I think that is something that happens to everyone through their walk with the Lord. The true test of one’s meekness is admission to it, which you just did (probably have before too). Not everyone admits it or alters their belief system when the Lord would rather them do so, but instead may try to alter the context of scripture to match their beliefs, opposed to making their beliefs adhere to scripture.

Particularly for those of us who teach, we need to be extra careful in everything about the Word of God and what we cause others to think about it. But the Lord knows who is being sincerely wrong over those who are just too prideful to be corrected. I’m pretty sure I’ve been both in the past in one way or another, and the Lord is much lighter handed to the sincere as far as correction goes. But to the prideful there’s a fall coming. Someone who is wrong but is sincerely under the belief that he’s got it right, I think that the Lord will lead that person to repentance, in other words open their eyes to the error so it may be corrected. There may be some crow that must be eaten, but that’s not forever.

But as far as a prideful person goes, who rejects that they are in error, or knows it and keep on trucking with it anyways to dodge eating said crow, will certainly fall. That’s just how the Lord has established his reaction to pride, with a fall. Anyways, not sure why I rambled on here but hey, why not?
Thanks for your great comment and may the Lord bless you in a mighty way in Jesus name!

You are doing a great job! It’s really confusing time for the immature Christians. Most people don’t read Bible and some people don’t want to read at all. if they read Bible, most answers in the Bible as you know, and you are doing wonderful jobs, God bless you.

      Hi Jeny,
Thank you for that, I really appreciate it! The Lord has put me in a position to play my part (in whatever way he sees fit) to shine a light on the fact that just as wars and rumors of wars are amping up, so are false Christ’s, false doctrines, false gospels, and false overall information. These stem from the father of lies which is Satan himself, to deceive, kill steal and destroy. From there, are spread out about the planet by either deceived people or blatant workers of iniquity.
The bottom line is, Christians need to get to know their Lord, and he’s given us a beautiful introduction of himself through his Word. To new Christians, you have no idea how important it is to get to know your Bible. It is the sword by which we fight by in the spiritual war that rages all around us. What’ll you use against the powers of darkness if you are confronted? Please, don’t neglect your time with the Lord and prayerfully reading his Word, and seek for the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to all of the hidden treasures that are available for you to understand through him!
Thank you again for your comment Jeny, God bless you in Jesus name!
