False Accusations

Daily Inspiration from Proverbs 30 P. 478 – False Accusations

Proverbs 30: King James Bible

False Accusations – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter thirty, Verse 10

10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

Daily Inspiration from This Verse – False Accusations

This is kind of a strange verse, isn’t it? At least to us it is, as masters and servants are these days reserved for stereotypical images of the extraordinarily wealthy. The verbiage makes it a bit difficult to relate to.

But what’s going on here, really has little to do with title and position. It’s the actions these folks are taking that’s important to take in.

If the accuser above were not making false accusations, why would he be found guilty? If the accuser was telling the truth, there wouldn’t be any fear of repercussions against him.

Making accusations that are false happen for two reasons:

  1. To slander someone else for some sort of personal gain
  2. Acting on falsehoods created by someone else

Slandering someone has a whole cart full of baggage stuffed with different iniquities. Good thing these things don’t continue on today, right? Well… Ahem…

Honestly, people tend to feel better about slandering someone else if they change the word from “slander” to “accuse” or “expose.” There’s nothing wrong with exposing the wrongdoing of someone, if you’re sure that they’ve done it, and you can back it up with evidence or concrete personal experience.

But that doesn’t really happen too much these days outside of a court of law. In the eyes of the Lord, when is it right to make an accusation against someone?

Well, there’s no good time to take part in slander, cut that right out of the equation. The only time the Lord has spoken about revealing any accusations, would fall under when it’s right to do so.

The Word tells us that when we know what is right to do yet decide not to do it, it is sin. There are circumstances where accusing someone is justified.

But there are no circumstances where a false accusation is justified. If we are to accuse anyone of anything, we’d better be right and sure that our information is crystal clear, without anyone else’s suppositions injected into the reasoning behind it.

And even at times where it is personally justifiable, is it necessary? Just because we can do something, doesn’t still mean that we should, nor does that make it right.

Responding to false accusations can be just as bad as being the purveyor of them. We need to be careful about accusations, as they are mere words until proven to be true.

All of these things should be weighed carefully among each of us, as we are living in days where the Lord’s judgement is coming down upon the Church as a whole.

1 Peter 4:

17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Peter said it “must” begin at the house of God. Not might. Understanding that we are living in the last days, we should double down to do what’s right, avoid false accusations and lies meant to confuse the Body of Christ, and do right by the Lord.

If indeed we are living in the end times, we should be found responding to and purveying the truth, not fables, nor false accusations made by those who are seeking to take advantage of others.

Thank you for your Word, and for everything that you’ve included in it. Help us to to better discern through your Spirit, the things that are true and the things that are false. The accusations and slanders run rampant across the earth Lord, and the truth gets buried in the confusion. Make us all wise in this Lord, so we are not found to be guilty of spreading falsehoods, nor reacting against the righteous due to a false accusation. This we pray in Jesus precious name.
