Proverbs 19: King James Bible
False Witness – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter nineteen, Verse 5
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Daily Inspiration from These Verses – False Witness
Two “shall not’s” in one sentence gives us a sure bet that this is a verse making a declaration. Declaring an invisible law that has transcended through the ages, since the Father cut it loose upon the world.
If you give a false witness, you shall not escape punishment for doing so. Reason or excuses have no place in this, at least as far as the verse above states it.
The whole idea behind bearing false witness, is to mislead or manipulate. It’s as simple as that. And there is no escape from being found out. If someone makes it to the grave, they’ll still be answering for it. If the Lord says that there’s no escape, that means in the end, you’d have to get by him in order to not be found out. A tall order to say the least.
It’s better to come clean about lies and bearing false witness to whatever the case may be, before reaching the point where we’ll have to answer to the Lord. For some Christians, this might just be a thing that is jammed between themselves and their relationship with the Father. Putting a strain on the relationship.
I do know for sure, that there are groups out there, dedicated to bear false witness to the church at large, and also against the church. This has happened against the church since the days of the apostles. Even before that, as men were bearing false witness against Christ Jesus in order to get him punished.
So they are still out there, seeking an opportunity to cause the church grief, by bearing false witness against modern day Christians. The idea being, to drive away those who are weak in faith, or those who may be on the fence.
The others that don’t bear false witness about the church, but rather to the church, is a whole different ballgame. There is a satanic organization (quite literally, these are full blown Satanists) out there, that have taken the position, to behave as Christians online and in churches.
They do this to infiltrate, divide, confuse, and break down a church, or lead believers in one way shape or form away from the Father. I’ve personally bumped into a few of these online, and as far as places like YouTube, they are the Satanist’s worst kept secret.
They do their best to pass as a Christian, even calling themselves by names pulled from the pages of the Bible. Some do better than others, but they’ll preach a message that sounds scriptural, but isn’t, and also give prophetic utterances that are not from the Father, but are lies.
One of these groups were responsible for leading believers into the black hole of rapture date setting. As a disclaimer, many honest to goodness believers in Christ do similar things for a host of reasons, so I’m not balling everyone together. But this group picked a date to get everyone hoping for, and rolled with it. Big difference between that, and someone who is mistaken or maybe too zealous.
The Lord will be dealing with all who haven’t given these things to be dealt with on the Cross. Oh yes, every lie we utter is paid for by the stripes on Christ’s back. Every false witness born has already been judged and executed on our Lord 2,000 years ago.
But many folks won’t have Jesus in their corner to announce “paid in full.” As I’ve said in the past, all sin must be paid for. Either we take up the offer of the Lord Jesus to pay for it himself, or we’ll be paying for it ourselves. He’s placed that decision in our hands. Be wise and choose Christ.

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man.
59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; 60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, 61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Many of us in the face of trouble, may have borne false witness. Many of us might have lied to save ourselves headaches or various types of trouble. But yet the reality is, we are without excuse. Please forgive any of us who may have ever borne false witness against anyone, or for any reason. Please forgive us Father, and lead us to make things right. Net neither these things, nor any other thing come between us Lord, and guide us through your Holy Spirit to do what’s right in your eyes, not our own. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray.
Has the Lord brought into your remembrance, any time you’ve borne false witness?
