Hello everyone, happy Thanksgiving to all!
Before moving along with this seasonal post, I’d like to indulge for a moment, and let you know a few things about my day. I’ll be brief, I promise!
Last night, after completing and scheduling my next devotional from Proverbs, I did an update to my website. This is a frequent thing that WordPress does, when they make certain tweaks and fixes. The same idea as updating drivers or other kinds of software.
So anyways, I turn my computer on this morning, and to make a long story short, I noticed that my menu bar had gone insane! The majority of the different items were just plain gone, and what was left behind was all scrambled up.
Having a ten minute attention span, I had a very difficult time remembering how everything was. After a couple of years worth of posts and carefully trying to keep things organized as I go, I wind up with a “set it & forget it” state of mind.
I mean, we’re up to 414 different posts, and 47 pages right here on this site, so you can imagine it was like playing 461 pickup, rather than 52 pickup.
All said, I spent the day struggling and did the best I could to reorganize the menu up above. No, it’s not the same. Yes, I’m open to any heads up over something that you might notice missing, that you enjoyed. If you let me know, I’ll throw it up there so you can find it easily.
I said all that to say this…
I am thankful that all of you have been so supportive over the past few years here at the Supernatural Truth in Christ Website. As I was stressing out over the issues, I realized that I was stressing, because I know that there are quite a few viewers daily here at the site.
When I realized this, my heart changed for the better, and knew that if nobody was looking, nobody would’ve noticed, and all this work would be for nought anyhow. In other words, the fact that it was a problem is a good thing (if that makes any kind of sense).
Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
So this Thanksgiving, I’d like to thank all of you, and more importantly thank the Father. He has been at the helm since the beginning, a constant help through every facet of all the things that transpire here.
And I praise Jesus for every soul that he leads to this site, and trust in the Lord to move any unsaved heart unto him through anything that they may find through it’s pages.
And I’m thankful for any instance that scripture meets the eyes of anyone who might not have read any for any amount of time. Also, causing for anyone to open up their Bibles to check things out for themselves. To me, that is a victory and cause for thanksgiving.
There are so many things that we should be thankful for, that transpire every day being totally taken for granted. When you stop to think about it, it might not take too long to come up with at least five things you could be thankful for just counting today.
How about waking up in the morning? I heard someone say recently that any day you wake up is a good one. Not everyone does, and someday neither will we! Nobody is promised tomorrow, but we should at least be thankful for the time that we’ve been given.
Not everyone would see things that way, particularly miserable people. They might wake up and think to themselves, “Ugh, another day.” Been there, and done that. However, I’ve found that days like that, are most often due to lack of trust and obedience to the Father. The Word mentions about being “vain in imaginations,” might have something to do with it too for some people.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
When the Lord changes your heart, he can then lead you to change your circumstances, or cause for you to see your circumstances differently. When you begin to recognize how involved the Lord is with your life, the more thankful you become, and the less you tend to take for granted.
Every Day Event
Being thankful to the Lord should be a daily event, not just something that should be reserved for a holiday that rolls around once a year.
Romans 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
So again, I’d like to thank all of you who have been regulars here at the S.T.I.C. website, those of you who have been lifting us up in prayer, those of you who have been helping us financially through your donations and book purchases, and those of you who have been sharing the materials from this site with others, and also the first timers. I am daily thankful for all of you, and pray that the Lord bless you all, keep you all, and guide all of you down the path that he has established for each one of you. In Jesus mighty name!
2 Corinthians 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
Have a wonderful, safe, and happy Thanksgiving!
