Hear and Receive – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter nineteen, Verses 20-21

Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Hear and Receive
We can get great council and instruction for just about anything from others. But as good as it may seem, man’s capacity to instruct or give council pale in comparison to what the Father teaches is in his Word, pertaining to the things of life.
When we hear and receive the wisdom, council, and instruction from the Lord, we are learning things that lead to life, and are active for the rest of our lives. I’d go further with that, and say that we’ll be using what he’s taught us here, in Heaven also.
There’s a certain point where we stop using different things that we’re trained to do. For example, I used to use a computer aided design program (CAD) called SolidWorks. Training to use that program properly takes quite awhile, and they are always adding new features which requires further training.
But all of that instruction gained in order to use that program, counts for nothing now, as I don’t use it anymore. The same holds true for nearly everything when you stop to think about it. Aside from the personal vitals, most things we are trained for, will one day be for naught.
The the things that we learn in the Bible, are lessons learned and for us to use for the rest of our lives. When we move on to be with the Father, some of it will drop off, as our circumstances will change. But much of it will still be important for us to have known. Can I prove that? Well, no; not yet anyways.
When I was young, I could get many things done by brute strength. But as I’ve grown older, and suffer a variety of aches and pains, it is much better to do things wisely and maintain a “smarter not harder” way of doing things. Much of which would have been nice to know when I was younger to save some blood and sweat. Also might have made many different decisions, avoiding troublesome outcomes.
I believe that the same is true with the Word of God. As it says above, “so that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.” It is a journey for us to take; a life long Bible study, lasting as long as we live and preparing us for what is coming next, should the Lord tarry.
There is none better to learn from about life and living, than the literal Author of Life. He has made everything that we’ll ever need to know available, and these days, is always at arms reach.
But it is our responsibility to search him out, so that we may hear and receive all that he has to offer for the wisest council, and the clearest of instruction.

1 Corinthians 13: King James Bible
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
2 Timothy 3: King James Bible
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Thank you for your wisdom and your willingness to share it with we, your children. Help us Father, to hear and receive all that you will for us to know, and may your instruction actively remain with us for the rest of our days. This we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
