Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Heart for Wisdom
The question that is being asked above, is in a way, a trick question. The trick is, that it supposes that wisdom is something that can be bought in the first place, regardless of anyone’s heart condition.
Knowledge can be bought. This happens all the time through different training, schooling, tech, etc.. But wisdom in a sense, is the ability to apply knowledge to gain the best possible outcome. You can gain all the knowledge in the world, but without wisdom, you wind up with a 50-50 shot at using any of it properly, if at all.
There is worldly wisdom, and there is wisdom that is given to us by the Father. These are two totally different things, that work in two different areas.
Just like anything worldly, wisdom of this world works from the outside in. The wisdom that the Father gives, works from the inside out.
As a reminder of what a Biblical fool is, it is a person who says in their heart that there is no God. Now, if someone says in their heart that there is no God, right off the bat, we know that wisdom of the Lord (true wisdom), will not be found in that person.
This doesn’t mean that the person is an idiot. They can be filled with all kinds of worldly wisdom, much of which might just be the cause for their lack of belief in the Lord. They can be financially set, have all manners of complex accounts that will keep them satisfied for the next forty years.
However, little thought do they give to the reality of their next breath possibly being their last. There is a piece of scripture that the Lord Jesus spoke explaining this very thing. You can read it below in the scriptures section.
But to paraphrase, a rich man did some long term planning, and was priding himself for his foresight. Then guess what the Lord said to the man? You fool! You’re not going to live to see it through.
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but a fool says there is no God. Why should a fool fear in someone that they don’t believe exists? This is why divine intervention of some sort is used by the Lord, to win these people over. That is, if it’s possible.
When the Lord does something like that, it’s not necessarily because he can’t fulfill something without that person. He can use anyone for anything. I’d guess, that it is to answer prayers of concerned family, friends, etc..
Because there are hosts that pass by way of the grave every day, that will deny the Father even till their dying breath. There’s got to be something that turns the tide (spiritually speaking).
We can have a heart for wisdom by the Father installing it into us. It isn’t something that comes naturally, and begins spiritually. How we can become more wise in the Lord is easy to explain.
Just ask. Ask the Lord for wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to whatever degree he wills, and he’ll give it liberally. He is a loving Father that wills for us to turn to him for these things, instead of turning to the world.

Luke 12: King James Bible
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
James 1: King James Bible
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Thank you for your Word, and for all that it contains! Thank you for using it to teach us your will for our lives, and to help us understand you better. Please Lord, increase our wisdom should we be lacking. This we ask of you by faith, not wavering, knowing that your wisdom is far better, than what the world has to give. We aim to be better servants unto you, and ask that you include knowledge and understanding to that wisdom. This we ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you spoken to the Father about renewing your heart for wisdom?
