Call it supernatural truth, God almighty is the final destination on the long road to Heaven and wants for us to be with him! How would you know if you were on the right road to heaven or not? Is there a way to know for sure where you are going to go when you die? Some heavy and important questions. Let’s take a look at the biblical view on the topic, and find the answers to some of these questions, and maybe other questions that may pop up.
We’re all gonna Die!
I hate to break it to you, but you are going to die. I am going to die… We’re all gonna die!!!
According to a site called Medindia, nearly 2 people die per second across the globe every second of every day on average. This breakdown of the World Death Clock found on their site shows the cold hard numbers displaying the certainty of that one appointment we all must attend. But the good news is, it doesn’t have to be an appointment we have of the great unknown! We can indeed know with certainty where we are going to wind up for all eternity.
A World full of Religion
According to Wikipedia, there are around 4,200 different religions (not including denominational differences) out there today for all of us to choose from. All making different promises and cause believers to take different paths according to the doctrine of their religion of choice. Which one is right?
The best answer I believe exists may surprise you! Out of the huge selection of 4,200 (ish) religions to choose from, the one real religion to choose is… Well… None of them. Not a single one. All religions should be defined as man’s way to either become god or work their way to God in one way or another.
Religion vs. Relationship
The apostle James defined what true religion is, and it’s actually quite simple. He wrote:
James 1:27 King James Bible
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
That’s about it. As far as religious practices go, that is the requirement. How simple is that compared to what we normally consider “religious”. All the big halls, the outfits, the repetitious mumbling, trinkets, statues, idols, shrines, well you name it, don’t add up to a hill of beans when it comes down to your standing with the almighty God.
The people that gave Jesus the largest problems throughout his ministry were the religious people of the day! Some of the most compelling statements that Christ made in any of the four Gospels were convictions pointed directly toward the Saducees and the Pharisees. Where the rubber meets the road, is that Jesus was preaching the Kingdom and a relationship with the Father, instead of staying with the status quo of the day.
A Personal Jesus
I suppose I’ve gone through all that to simply say this… Religion will not get you to heaven, a relationship with the Father through Christ does!
Matthew 7:22-24 King James Bible
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (I believe this is referring to religious people who never took the time to have a real relationship with Jesus, just doing the external things that look good but never coming to the full knowledge of who he is, what he wants, and how he feels about anything.)
If you receive Jesus the Messiah (or Christ) into your heart and learn of him for yourself, giving HIM the keys to your life, he is always there and walks you through all the fires of this life. And as you are filled with the Holy Ghost (the Spirit of the Living God), you are shown things in the Bible that you would have never known or understood otherwise, about Himself, how everything works, how he operates, and all while teaching you to deal with your eternity.
We are only required to do one thing to receive Salvation. That would be to make one decision, that’s it. Jesus completed everything else crossing every “t” and dotting every “i”. No hoops to jump through.

Matthew 7: King James Bible
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
