Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Out of the World
The Apostle Peter tells us that the enemy is about us, as a roaring lion, seeking whom it may devour. The scripture above is a great Old Testament representation of this.
As we discussed in the previous handful of verses, we’re going to explore the parallels that may be found between the strange woman and the world at large. The enticements, the temptations, the fleshly paradigm, the systems of government, entertainment, the self established version of morality, are all included when we us the term, “the world.”
The world is under the reign of the evil one, Satan himself. This is discussed at length in the Bible Study page called,”Why did God put Satan on Earth?” This is not to be confused with the actual earth itself.
For example, the sea, the land, the trees, etc., are the actual earth. Scripture tells us that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. But the world represents the things that go on across the face of the earth.
Knowing who is in charge of this world and all of it’s Babylonian systems, it’s no surprise how often we can find the ways of the world becoming staunch against the Lord, and the ways of the Lord. This place is just as the strange woman who is waiting on every corner, seeking someone to entice and lead away from the ways of righteousness, and down the road to oblivion.
Don’t we see without trying, the temptations that are involved in our day to day lives? I don’t think any of us need to look for very long before we can see or sense that lion seeking whom it may devour.
The largest task expected of us by the Father, is to get into the Word and to learn the difference between his will, and the will of the world. The differences between the ways of the Lord God Almighty, and the ways of the evil one through means of this fallen world.
It’s all in his Word, and his wisdom to discern between the two is available to us through the Holy Ghost, and through all of the things that the Lord would have us to know. Being equipped with knowledge from the Word and the wisdom from on high, you’ll see that strange woman a mile away.
But it’s up to us to do the right thing in the Father’s eyes, after having made such distinctions.

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
1 Peter 5: King James Bible
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Lead us through your Word, in order to help us and to explain to us your ways versus the ways of this wicked world. Forgive us when we’ve chosen unwisely between the two, and lead us not into that which tempts us, awaiting on every corner. But deliver us from the hand of the fowler, from those who, whether they know it or not, would lead us away from the trail that you’ve blazed before us. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray.
