Daily Inspiration from Proverbs 10 P.105 – Righteous and the Wicked

Proverbs 10: King James Bible

Righteous and the Wicked – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter ten, Verses 27-29

27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. 28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. 29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Righteous and the Wicked

Jesus tells us in the Word, that we can judge a tree by its fruit. Just as we can use that quick and easy method to distinguish one tree from another, so also, the Lord uses this method to weigh the difference between the righteous and the wicked.

For the past 2000 years or so, the first fruit that the Father looks for is the presence of Christ Jesus in one’s life. That’s the instant dividing line. That’s where we go from Judgement to reward. Should Jesus not be found in one’s life, and that person isn’t sealed by the Spirit and washed by the blood of the Lamb, it’s off to hell, while we await the second death, which is the Lake of Fire.

It really is that simple, which is why the Father made it so simple to be accepted by him. The problem is (for those who choose to reject Christ), there is only one way to be found righteous in the eyes of the Lord, and that’s through his Son Christ Jesus the Lord.

For some folks, God’s only begotten Son, and the simple decision to believe in he whom the Lord sent, is evidently too much to asks. These people may very well die in their sin, and find themselves face to face with the Lord God Almighty. And when it’s time to dish out the reward for the righteous and the wicked, their lot is to wait in a crushing torment, knowing full well, the finality of it all.

And all that is coming after death. But these verses cover things that are tangible to us today, while we’re still kicking. For the righteous (those who have been Born Again), We are promised prolonged life, gladness through hope, and the strength of the Lord. For the wicked (those who reject Christ), they’re promised for their years to be cut short, fleeting and crushed expectations, and eventually, destruction.

Such a clear distinction between what’s smart to cleave to versus what to flee from, don’t you think? And yet there are still so many that will not believe. If you are among them, and would like to have your life changed, and your eternity secured, here’s how it’s done.

John 6: King James Bible

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

1 Corinthians 15: King James Bible

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

If there is ever a moment that goes by, where we take for granted the sacrifice that you made on our behalf 2,000 years ago, performed and executed in your Son, Christ Jesus, please remind us of the gift that you’ve given, and forgive us for doing anything at all, outside of remembrance of you, and t he works of the Lord on the Cross. This we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is, who was, and who is to come.

Who would’ve thought we’d be here to see the days, where the righteous and the wicked are so sharply contrast?

  1. Thanks Brian…yes, it really is that simple, that cut and dried. Christ’s offer of forgivness/salvation is on the table. Refuse His offer, and as their life ends, they then have to face their eternal punishment. No matter how simple is the Lord’s plan of salvation, the hard headed just will not heed the warning. Very sad. God be with you Brian…Amen.

    • Hi George,
Amen. The Lord Jesus did all of the work, with the exception of the one work we’re required to do, which is to believe and make a simple decision. Easy peasy. I’d go so far as to say, should the Father have taken any more steps to spare us from the pit, we’d have no free will left. That’s the line I believe he took things to. That’s how much he’s done. Amen and Amen!
Thanks for the comment Brother, and may the Lord bless you in abundance in the name of Jesus, and may the scripture that you have blaring into the air over there, break all of the strongholds of all the idols and false gods, and peel back the scales off of the eyes of everyone around you, within earshot. In Jesus mighty name!
      In Christ,
