Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Seek Me Early
How early is the Lord talking about here? Is he talking about 5 AM? Or maybe 4:30 AM? I don’t think so. Think about it for a moment…
When you’re dealing with an omnipresent God Almighty, when is it not early for the Lord? It’s always 5 AM somewhere in the world. Then what does it mean to seek him out early?
I’d propose, that it stands for a couple of different things. One, would represent the beginning of your day. The other would be concerning decisions. In other words, seeking him early in a process, or even before one.
I touched on this subject in a page I did a while back called “Waiting on the Lord,” If you’d like to check it out. Seeking out the Lord early is a bit different than waiting on the Lord.
In my opinion, waiting on the Father is something that happens after you’ve already sought him out. Seeking out the Lord early, or to put it in another way, to seek him out first, can save you from all kinds of unwanted consequences for a potpourri of different matters.
Jesus tells us to seek out the Lord first, not second. First thing we should be doing at the beginning of our day, regardless of what time it is, is to inquire of the Lord about the things ahead. For the short term and for some guidance on the long term.
And from a process point of view, before making a big decision that may crop up throughout the day, inquire of the Lord first about what you should do. Even if you’re on the spot, you can always step away from the situation and hit the bathroom, and have a quick talk with the Lord about whatever it may be. I’m saying this with work related types of things in mind.
I have known for quite some time now, that on the day I stand before the Father, I am going to be horrified at the amount of times I did not do anything I just spoke about. All of the on the fly decisions that I’ve made in this life without inquiring the Lord’s thoughts about it first. How about you?

26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Revelation 22: King James Bible
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Life moves by so quickly, and there’s always so much going on around us. Things come at us fast, and we may take steps that you would rather us not take, or have followed through with horrible decisions, neglecting to include you in any of them. Please forgive us for this foolishness, and grant us the presence of mind, to ask your thoughts on all matters. Remind us when we wake, to seek you out early, while you may be found. In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray.
Ever wonder, when you wake up before the alarm clock, if the Lord’s saying to you,”Seek me early”?
