Daily Inspiration from Proverbs 24 P. 360 – Spiritual Strength

Proverbs 24: King James Bible

Spiritual Strength – Daily Devotion of Proverbs chapter twenty four, Verses 5-6

5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Daily Inspiration from These Verses – Spiritual Strength

The two verses above are true for every circumstance, but are particularly true concerning gaining strength through the Word of God. The Lord doesn’t want for us to simply be versed in the Word, but to be well fed and strengthened through by it.

We can increase in strength through becoming more knowledgeable in something we’re already wise to. For example, a mechanic can already fix cars, but needs to increase in knowledge if he wants to strengthen his trade, with all of the different things that change throughout time.

Someone who learned how to fix cars 30 years ago, would have a tough go at trying to fix cars made today. That is of course, unless he increased his knowledge concerning all of the changes.

The Word of God will not change, but our lives and circumstances are always fluid in motion. We might be able to gain physical or fleshly type of strength through various types of conditioning, but nobody can bear a broken spirit.

Spiritual strength bolsters how you determine to live out your life, and drives the character of each choice (among a host of other things). Spiritual strength can allow you to see through the fog of war, and gain understanding into why certain things happen, that go beyond what we can know via natural senses.

Someone who is as healthy as an ox, yet spiritually dead, is akin to a tank with a corpse at the helm. It’s just an overgrown paperweight. But the spiritually strong can do a tremendous service to the Lord, and have strong significance in the world around him, even with a broken body.

Nobody gains in strength spiritually, without first the help of the Father to open up our understanding to the scriptures. Then being led by the Spirit of the Lord, throughout the entire counsel of his Word. Eventually, you begin to start seeing the world differently.

Not only differently, but for what it really is, a place that only scratches the surface of what the Lord has created. We are able to experience only a fraction of his creation in these bodies of flesh.

But there is a time coming, where we shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and be quickened into new bodies of incorruptible flesh. When this happens, we will become as Jesus now is, in the same manner of body as he currently enjoys.

This could happen in our lifetime, or after we go by way of the grave. Either way, it’s happening. I’m not sure about your thoughts on that,  but I can certainly tell you that I’m excited for it to happen!

So be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Build up what matters most, which is spiritual strength, because that is what will get us through all of the tough times that we’ll need to face while we’re still here. Physical strength is fine but won’t help you figure things out, read between the lines, grant you emotional stability through trying times, help you to know of the unseen forces at play, and especially won’t get you any closer to the Lord.

By way of the Word of God spiritual strength is made available. Not only that, but our strength can be increased to handle every twist that life throws our way, as our knowledge of the Father grows.

Romans 8: King James Bible

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

1 Corinthians 2: King James Bible

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 15: King James Bible

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
