Daily Inspiration from These Verses – What is Right

What is right? How can anyone know for sure, the difference between right and wrong?

There are some people who rely on governments, or politics in general, to dictate right and wrong. Others claim that they are the worlds foremost authority, on what is right and wrong for themselves. And there are others, that think they know what’s right or wrong for everyone else, with a different set of standards for themselves.

Then we have the Body of Christ, who relies on the Father to show us what is right and wrong, through his Spirit and by his Word. Well, at least we should be, but we all know that just because some people claim something, doesn’t make it so.

Jesus taught that we can tell what kind of tree we’re looking at, by it’s fruit. Having a spirit born anew within us, does not force us to do what’s right by default, nor does it mean we suddenly know everything we’d need to know, about how we should be making decisions.

Without the guidance of the Lord through his Word, we wind up doing what’s right in our own eyes, instead of what’s right in the Father’s eyes. Every time mankind finds himself doing something that is right in his own eyes, and has no foundation to stand on concerning whatever it is, you can rest assured that it will be against the Lord.

We who are saved are to put on the mind of Christ, the full armor of God, laying hold of sound doctrine, and searching out scriptures for all things. Relying on the Father for everything, but doing so according to the promises throughout his Word, both the conditional promises along side the unconditional.

All are impossible without getting to know the Lord. This is something that the Father has been driving home to me through many of these verses, we’ve covered throughout the devotionals.

Which makes plenty of sense, considering that many of the promises of the Lord have conditions to meet. If you don’t know what he’s promised, then you’ll be shooting in the wind blind, at least spiritually speaking.

If you do know the promises, yet don’t know the terms that the Lord has set, what good is it? You need to know and understand the promises of the Lord, and also the terms he has set for you to trigger the fulfillment of the promises.

But I can tell you with certainty, to create your own paradigm of what is right, leaving aside the instruction of the Father, is a way to find yourself on a road well traveled, that leads to hell and death. I guess that’s the extreme of it, but no less real than any of the lesser consequences that befall someone who’s blind to the Lord and his instruction.

Thank you for your Word, and for all of the promises that you’ve packed in between the covers! Help us to discern the difference between promises that are unconditional, versus those that have conditions. For those which are conditional, help us to fully understand them, remember them, and to choose your promises over the promises of this present fallen world. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
